About Is It Up Or Not?
A free, independent tool that answers one question fast: is a website down for everyone, or just for you?
Why we built it
When a website or app stops working, it's hard to tell whose problem it is. Restarting your router won't fix a global outage, and waiting won't fix a DNS problem on your own laptop. Is It Up Or Not? checks websites from outside your network, so in a few seconds you know whether a site is really down or the problem is on your side, and what to do next.
What you can do here
- Check any website. Type an address on the home page and our server tests it right away.
- See live status for 56 of the most-used websites, across search & web, streaming, messaging, social, AI, shopping, work & dev, and gaming.
- Open a status page for each site with its recent history, fixes for that kind of site and a link to its official status page, like Is YouTube down?
- Fix it yourself with our step-by-step guide when a site is up for everyone else but not for you.
