Discord not working for you?

If we show Discord as up but it won't load for you, try these steps:

  1. Make sure the Discord app is up to date, then force-close and reopen it.
  2. Switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data to rule out your network.
  3. Check that Discord is allowed to use background data and send notifications.
  4. If only some messages fail, the problem may be the other person's connection.

Is Discord down right now?

No. Discord is up and responding normally as of our last check (1 min ago). If it isn't working for you, the problem is probably on your side, so try the fixes on this page.

Why is Discord not working for me?

If Discord is up for us but not for you, the cause is usually local: an outdated browser cache, a DNS problem, your internet connection, a VPN or ad blocker, or an out-of-date app. Work through the steps under "Discord not working for you?" above.

How do you check if Discord is down?

Our server requests https://discord.com/ every 2 minutes from outside your network. If Discord answers at all, even with a redirect or a sign-in page, we count it as up. Timeouts, refused connections, DNS failures and 5xx server errors count as down. Press "Check now" to run a live test at any time.

Does Discord have an official status page?

Yes. Discord posts official status updates at discordstatus.com.
